Fishing hook floats past surface and never stops

I made a fishing pole and each time I cast it out very far and it goes under water, starts to float and gradually speeds up never ending. I cant right click to reel it back and they only thing I can do is switch weapons, but the line stays there even after I move, however it does not follow me where I move.
