disconnection issues for servers and more

When attempting to connect to a 14w28a server, the client is disconnected and is shown the following message:
Connection Lost
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(36) + length(65) exceeds writerIndex(56): UnpooledHeapByteBuf(ridx:36, widx : 56, cap: 56)

Please do not mark unreleased versions as affected.
You don't have access to them yet.

Old snapshots are buggy and aren't supported at all. Use a release version.

this is a release version. it's release version 1.9.0 and i was on timelesspvp factions server when it occured.

It happened again in 1.9.2 version

If you have not, try 1.9.4

it's not compatible with 1.9.4

From my understanding, you are running the latest version of Minecraft, however, you are trying to connect to an outdated server, which is not supported.
