Actually there are 6 playsounds for Polar Bears present in the snapshot, but none seem to make any audible noise.

Seems to me, a bug.

Typically just the sound events are added in the snapshots, with the actual sound files being created later on.

Okay. But I wouldn't label this report as invalid. It's definitely not a "feature" request.
