Creepers explode instantly while falling

When a creeper falls (mostly in ravines), it will explode instantly usually killing you, so fast, you probably don't even see the creeper, and they still make a hissing sound.
Steps to reproduce: spawn a creeper on top of a ravine, then go below the creeper, go into survival and you blow up.
