Rarely, the controls lock up for about 30 seconds. When a lockup happens, whatever keys I'm pressing stay pressed to the client, and whatever keys are unpressed stay unpressed.
For example, if I'm holding W and looking straight up and a lockout happens, I will be walking forward and looking straight up for 30 seconds, and there is nothing I can do about that except by doing a force quit on Minecraft or waiting for the lockout to expire.
If I switch desktops, that pauses Minecraft, but then I cannot click any buttons or un-pause until the lockout expires.
It is not an issue with my keyboard/mouse because I have replicated this with numerous keyboards and mice.

Does this happen with any other kind of notifications or issues including beeps? I've had problems with a track pad that beeped at me and became laggy before shutting off hard and only did it for one app (not Minecraft).
Also, does Minecraft become "not responding" during these lockouts? Could you do a debug crash (Hold F3 + C)?
husky2490 - Lockouts are sudden, and they occur without any kind of notifications. Minecraft does respond during these lockouts. Everything runs at its normal framerate; only the keyboard ceases to work. (It's Minecraft only.)
EDIT: I cannot initiate a crash log because the controls are completely locked out for the duration.
FVbico - I would have known if the rules were in an obvious location.
