Slimes and Magma Cubes float. They randomly sink to the bottom, where they might float back up, or they might stay there and suffocate.
The first picture is of me finding this out in my survival world.
The Second is of me making a little aquarium to showcase it.

But I specifically remember that slimes sink. Did they change that without saying anything? I would think that it was a bug, especially because of the random sticking to the bottom, which no other mod does.
