the wolf is hostile toward the llama after being spat on and the then the wolf keeps running back and forth until the llama kills the wolf.

Not fixed in 16w39b

This is partly intended because it depends on the llama's strength. However, I have now balanced it a bit more. So for llamas with strength 4 and 5: wolves should always run away. And for weaker llamas wolves will run away more often.
