I can't move things in my inventory

I'm using 1.12 on a mac, and I can't move things in my inventory by clicking them. I can still move things by clicking Shift + 1 (or any other number). But I can't craft because I can't move items around/spread them. What do I do? I've tried reinstalling Minecraft, and shutting it down, and I turned touchscreen off...

Do you have touch screen mode on? If so, turn it off.

It's turned off, and still not working.

It's still an issue in the new version of Minecraft (1.11).

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.12) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.

Yes, this is still an issue on the most recent version. I'm not sure if there is some setting that I messed up, or if there is some simple quick fix.

Have you tried re-installing Minecraft?

Can you please provide a small video demonstrating the issue with the debug screen (hit the F3 key) enabled?
