Did a search, didn't see anything similar.
On a Amplified map, we found a village with it seemed to be random trail (path) blocks and crops placed in the air. Later we noticed the village was at the top of a mountain and on a floating island way way way above. At first it was really cool that it happened. But there's no practical way for the village to operate like it should. We started making a stair case. But soon realized the villagers wouldn't ever travel them. The doors to the house were facing into the mountains and most of the doors the villagers couldn't leave or even be attacked by the zombies b/c the paths were too far down.
Overall it's a neat concept, but the game generating the village buildings on more floating land would be better (strategically). Or have it generate it underground like in a cave if a available would be far more interesting... See below seed info for more as my explanation & few images doesn't do it justice.
The map Seed is 2126359 and select amplified
village cords: -169 / 170 / 115
and
-24 / 79 / 151
and
-223 / 177 / 167
and
-187 / 98 / 121
If you notice, nearby is a big area under a floating island. If the program could have detected it to generate. It would be better overall. If you notice, some buildings were generated partially underground.

Says resolved. Does that mean it's fixed in next release? I'm curious on how the villages will work/look going forward. 🙂
I looked at the duplicate. It's a far less drastic version of my example I gave. We're still playing around with the village. And the villagers won't even work on the crops. I added steps up to the crops and even a bridge to the other crops on the floating island. Now all of the village is connected with steps. They won't acknowledge any of it. I even spawned villages on the middle crop and the steps. They have access to escape back to their homes and I even made houses nearby to try and expand the village. And they just won't move. It's like they are confused.
