Dragon eggs that are dropped in lazy chunks no longer remove the block they land on. This feature was removed in the latest snapshot as multiple falling block tile entity's were consolidated. The unique property of dragon eggs got removed as a result removing there usefulness.

Bug or not it wasn't harmful at all and an endgame item used in a very niche mechanic that brought usefulness in a very balanced way. It added content and emergent gameplay in a creative and useful ways that made the game more valuable.
Please open this bug report so Mojang devs can at least see this and make that choice.
Mojang have successful removed a use from an otherwise useless block.
It's no secrete that this feature has been removed because of the bedrock breaking people do with this. I'd like to purpose to Mojang to either keep this feature which adds an amazing use to an already existing useless block, or add an alternative for us to do the same with.
The worst part about removing this feature is that it doesn't affect anyone that isn't actively observing their behavior and using it to their advantage. No one is going to drop a dragon egg in lazy processing junks and go "Oppsie, bloody hole in my bedrock now". If this is your concern I quite frankly think that you haven't actually tried this feature yourself.
Also, about this being closed of as an invalid bug report after 5 minutes.
This sort of attitude on mojira can really annoy me and others, of course this was a bug, it also result in a well balanced, unintended, and also a somewhat believable (in the realms of Minecraft) behavior.
I and others implore you to reconsider closing this bug report so Mojang can see this and hopefully add an alternative or keep this amazingly useful feature.
It was an exploit, replacing blocks such as bedrock is not intended in any way. This will not be reopened, keep your personal opinion off the tracker and remain objective please.
This was *not* a feature.
"This was clearly a bug." - So was rocket jumping. What's your point? It was also a source of emergent gameplay that didn't cause adverse effects. It's unintentional nature doesn't invalidate it as a mechanic, and it should at least be discussed as a candidate for preserving before being blithely written off.
For feature suggestions or changes please see: Minecraft Suggestions on Reddit. 🙂
This is not a suggestion or a request for a change. This is a report of a prior emergent mechanic that longer functions, something one would expect to be tracked in an issue tracker. Intended or not, it is a mechanic in current stable releases that does not function in current snapshots, and its future as a mechanic should have its due course in the appropriate forum. This will be my final statement on the matter, but please reconsider the reactionary summary judgement applied here. A mechanics origin shouldn't dictate its fate.
I had a lot to say about the conflict surrounding dragon eggs and some other related issues. Rather than spamming here, I put it in a reddit article: https://www.reddit.com/r/Mojira/comments/7ft6sq/user_consensus_nerfing_the_use_of_dragon_eggs_to/
This was clearly a bug.
