The bug
When a cod touches the bottom of a solid block, they take damage.
How to reproduce
Create a small fish tank with a ceiling made of solid blocks
Fill it with water and put a cod in it
Wait for it to swim up and touch the ceiling. It should begin to suffocate

This happened to me, too. Sucks, because I literally just made my underwater home a hub for fish and a farm for kelp at the same time, as well as a water-breathing wonderland.
