Incorrect structures in Desert Biome

Superflat Preset Desert

I see a very high density of structures, very close together. LOTS of lava lakes
I see inappropriate structures for the Desert biome, namely:
Witch Hut (Swamp)
Jungle Temple (Jungle)
Igloo (cold biomes!)

Also I think I am seeing incorrect passive mobs for the biome but can't be sure.

The world was created by 18w08b and I'm playing on 18w08b
At the time of posting 18w08b is no longer accepted by the Issue form, hence I am stating 18w09a above as the closest fit.

There are igloos and jungle temples all near the spawn point, hard to miss.
Also huge swarms of mobs!

Default seeds are randomized. We need the seed in order to reproduce the issue. Run /seed and provide the number.

If you go into the air from the spawn point of the default seed you should see jungle temples, witch huts, and some igloos nearby. And moss stone structures. As well as lots of villages. The villages at least are Desert villages.

Here is the seed, copied and pasted via the MineAtlas.com third party tool. It matches what I typed by hand, as far as I can tell.

OK I will replicate this world with the same seed and confirm I get the same results. I am not sure why that is worth doing, since I created this world new, in 18w09a, immediately got the same weird results I was seeing in 18w08b, and reported the (randomly generated) seed, as per above.

But OK I will try that.

Is no one seeing this problem with Superflat Preset Desert? To me it is not seed dependent, it happens consistenly and it's not subtle, it's staggeringly evident as soon as you go into the world.

I have just created 4 new worlds in 18w09a with
Creative, Superflat, Customise, Desert Preset

All 4 exhibit these inappropriate structure types, immediately, either visible from the spawn point or within less than one minute. I can see jungle temples, igloos, and in general just way too many structures, too much density. Desert structures are also present. All 4 seeds are random and totally different.

Also, there are mobs out that should not spawn in daylight, in large numbers. Zombies and skeletons in flat open desert, no shade at all. When I move into range of them they seem to 'remember' it's daylight and they start burning.

On the structure issue I wonder if the terrain generator realises this is a preset desert, but the structure generator is failing to notice the terrain is desert-only? Is the desert preset applied as a post-generation mask over the 'real' biome type, and the structure generator is accessing the 'real' biome type? I'm just guessing.

Some of the structures being created, I didn't recognise. Having checked the wiki, these are Underwater Ruins (with magma blocks). So yes, definitely inappropriate to generate those in a Desert biome. 🙂

Sorry that my search before posting did not find the duplicate. I searched "biome" and "structures" so I'm not sure why I didn't find MC-124918 in my search.
