Cannot use water buckets on double slabs

It appears to be impossible to place water on a double slab block (tested with oak slabs). This is most likely due to the fact that water can be placed on single slabs, and the fact that double slabs were merged with single slabs; the player is trying to place water in a position that does not support it.
