The 3rd person view reverts to 1st person view when player's head is moved inside a block (e.g. while riding a minecart around corners) or a block is moved by piston or setblock at the place of player's head
To Reproduce
Go into F5 (3rd person) mode
Clip your head inside a solid block (doesn't matter how long you clip) using one of various methods:
Ride a horse under a 2-block tall gap
Ride a minecart around a corner in a 1-block wide trench/tunnel
Do /setblock where your head is
Suffocation traps
Anything else you can think of
You would expect that when you are no longer inside the block, you would return to 3rd person mode
Instead, you are left in 1st person mode

That effect shows while riding underground 1x2 tunnels, sometimes on straight tracks, often when riding around corners (yes, the blocks in the corner are removed)
Ah, so its not actually a bug but it just isn't coded right, like alot other stuff in Minecraft? 😛
Well, Max, that would make it a bug.
In any case, I did manage to duplicate this bug, I made a tunnel underground and when going around a corner, my character's head was temporarily inside of a block, and so it switched to first-person mode. However, this did not happen when the tracks were in an open area.
No. The way I see it, showing the texture of the block you're in is intended by the devs but it leaves your view in 1st person mode and is sometimes triggered aggravatingly often; this is by a fault on the part of either the devs, the player or some combination of the two.
Can you explain what you mean by "go in a half circle, down" please?
