lightning fire put out by rain creates ghost light

i was walking at night when suddently lightning struck 10 blocks away from me. it got extuingischt by the rain but the light emitted from the fire remained

what I expected to happen:the fire was put out by the rain and the light emitted by the fire would dissapear

what actually happened:the fire was put out by the rain and the light emitted by the fire stayed.

additional information: this does not happen ALL of the time. just sometimes

The title of this issue is incorrect.

Maarten Thijs

you are right, I changed it

Ezekiel

Erm. No.

The description does not match the title. What does renaming blocks and placing them have to do with fire and lighting.

Maarten Thijs

ohw crap. I mixed 2 bug reports. should be fine now

Ezekiel

Only happens in Advanced OpenGl. 'Mater and the Ghostlight!'🙂

This problem seems to apply to any fire, including, I assume, ones which have burned out naturally. I had a big fire in a jungle and now that area is riddled with phantom light sources. This fire burned for many game days and I generally stayed out of the area until it had practically all burned out because of horrendous lag it caused, but it obviously gave many, many chances for this bug to manifest.

Beautifully lit, but not a torch in sight.
(PS If this bug could be made into an accessible feature I'd be a very happy miner!)

Wait, which is the non-duplicate of this bug report? I thought this one was!
NVM I'll create a fresh report.
