In pre5 the game boots and runs fine but I am stuck looking at the ground. If I invert the mouse via the in game settings I look at the sky. When i move the mouse I spin left or right, but never look up (or down when the mouse is inverted).

I have forced a crash and attached my log.

Result is the same when using a mouse or the touchpad. Using an external monitor as opposed to my laptops monitor also does not appear to make a difference. The mouse cursor is not hidden, so this may be a bug with my wm, although in my tests sway is compliant with the wayland protocol. Perhaps a xwayland bug.

Previous versions of minecraft crashed at boot (MC-126508) so I cannot regress.

Please retry with 1.13-pre3

Same result on pre4 - stuck looking up/down.

Is any version before -pre3 running?
Why I'm asking that: In 17w43a the LWJGL was updated and in 1.13-pre4 again.
I blame the newest LWJGL for that mouse behaviour issue.

No.

Please check if this is still an issue for you in 1.16-rc1 or later.

This, just tested and it still does this.

Mine does too on a new install of 1.16.3.  I found that if I set the mouse sensitivity crazy low I'm able to look around some, but it's so laggy as to be unusable.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 as my OS

Haven't  played in a while but when I went to play i cannot look up or down as well. Tried  reinstalling and then adjusting  the controls. No luck

Same here. Arch Linux VM on Proxmox. Trackpad does all sorts of weird glitchies, haven't tested with a mouse.
