I don't know if this really is a bug, or is intended, but whenever you're both on a block with 1.5 block height and in water, you will find yourself unable to jump unless touching another block. This was first experienced by myself in my survival world, then my creative world to test more situations. Another strange occurance is while in this "unjumping" state, if you push against the face of any block, it automatically makes you jump.

Cannot reproduce, but I'm not sure, if I did understand the issue correctly.
When standing in water on fence, the height is 74.5, I can can jump to ca. 74.6, but when standing / swimming in 2 blocks deep water I can jump to the same height.
Can and cannot confirm. First: I was able to jump when in a position as described (although not as high as without water). Second: the “jumping without pressing jump key” is confirmed in 1.5.1 on Linux. But as far as i can remember, it was always like that.
Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w30c? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Can confirm. It would seem that jumping on a 1.5 high block with water on top will allow only jumping the remaining 0.5 block height, except of course when standing next to another block.
