I decided to create another map to to side of the main map of our world and when I opened it my cousin was visible at the edge as a marker despite him not holding a copy of the map. He was however holding a copy of the main map. He continues to show up on both maps even when disconnected or not holding the map in his hands.

I am no longer positive this has anything to do with them holding another map, as I’ve seen it happen with people holding no map at all a few times, but it doesn’t consistently happen every time someone does have a different map.
