When entering a boat you will get kicked (from the server) with a nullpointer exception and can't join again.

The same thing happened to me, only when entering a minecart. Using Windows 7 OS.

Reopened, since MC-13704 is about placing a boat.
It's fixable if another person on the server manages to break the vehicles in the short amout the player appears logged in.
The Game displays "Null pointer exception", the error message in the launcher is:

Was thrown out of my server for the same reason, too. This seems to happen only in multiplayer. Relogin after this is not possible.
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report here.
