The Carpet Blocks are not visible while equipped, they also look like they are floating below the player's hand while looking in the Survival Inventory.

If fact a little edge of the carpet is rendered.
The carpet and the snow are simply rendered too low.
The only problem is that its not attached to hand in 3rd person mode,but its rendered correctly.All of you said that you can't see the whole carpet/snow is a bug,well that happend because carpet is 16 times thinner than a classic solid block like wool,so imagine you are rendering only bottom of wool so if you go into 3rd person mode you will see that if you switch from wool to carpet the bottom will be the same.I hope you understand what i wanted to say and sorry if i made some grammar mistakes in this comment.
They are also not attached to your hand and are floating in third person mode. Confirmed.
