When I was testing the new version of minecraft, I noticed that the left side of the Creeper heads are darker and before the explosion they are white.
You must just find some Creepers and bring them to explode. I think it´s not just on my Computer because I´d test it on my Laptop, too.
I attached some screenshots from the Creeper.

I can confirm this on the 1.4.2 pre-release. Prior to explosion and in an unprovoked state, the right side of the head (when looking forward at the creeper) appears extremely dark, and it turns totally white when in a damaged state.
I am seeing this too.
Unable to reproduce, please confirm for 1.4.5.
If you do have the issue, please post a crash report. (generate it by holding F3+C for 10 seconds)
I found this on unmodded 1.4.5. I'll try to attach a crash report soon.
Very weird. I was able to get this yesterday but not today. I did do a texture pack reload, so that may be the cause for the fix.

Finding this quite seldom too on 1.4.5 , but there is no way to reproduce.

this happens to me with cows in 12w49a
The title of this issue should be changed to "Mob heads are white..." since it does not only happen with creepers.
I have seen this rarely on 1.4.6. All mobs seem to have this issue.

Screenshot of 13w04a (also showing MC-119)
confirmed in 13w17a, especially on my cows.
still here - snapshot 13w19a .
I noticed something similar to this with wolves. They had one side being blue or black on one side

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report here.
Appears to be fixed in 30c.

Blah, were you experiencing the issue in a version that is confirmed affected? This is an issue that won't appear on all devices.
I somehow didn't experience this issue in 1.7.4 when it was released, for some odd reason.
At the time, I was running Java Version 7 Update 45, and as of 30c, I'm running Java 8 Update 11. I don't know if updating the java fixed the issue or not...

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
