Zombies (and probably other mobs too!) just wander into berry bushes for no reason, take damage, and die! This might make sense when chasing a player/villager, but not otherwise!

Thanks for the report; however this issue duplicates the more general issue MC-54702, which covers all damaging blocks (such as cacti, fire and berry bushes).
