Can't place any block in random areas of this 19w02a server/survival. Pathways in this village were undergoing construction and some blocks cannot be replaced. We made sure there were no invisible villagers. We can make a tower and drop sand on it, but directly placing a block makes it appear for a flash and disappear, reappearing in the inventory only if you click where you had it, or place another block somewhere.
Edit: Like I said, there were no villagers because we could use a tower to drop sand on the area and the villager would've suffocated. I also said I went into survival/single player mode and so villagers were absolutely not gonna get in the way of it. This was happening outside the village, in mines, and so forth.

How exactly? Did you try leaving and rejoining the world? Did you try restarting the server?

I said that we could make a tower and drop sand on the location. The villagers would've died. You're saying us 3 on the server and me in single player were unable to see a villager. There was no villager there. This was happening all over the map.

And yes the server has been restarted multiple times and we had left, considering I had been able to join the thing in single player, how else would I have joined in survival, copying a running server world? The pieces of information I gave already answered your questions. You can't get a server world to survival mode in one piece without stopping the server.
The same situation happened with MC-142148. They tried dropping sand, but the villager was not affected. It took them rejoining the world / restarting the server for the villager to finally appear.
Can you please attach (or provide a download link of) the world?

The weirdest thing is when I joined in single player, the icon of the single player world shows two barrels on top of each other. In game I have the barrel in my inventory and there is nothing above the lone barrel. As for the random blocks around the map not sure.

I think you tried adding the world to the ticket, but it didn't attach. At the top of this issue you should see an "Attach files" button.

I see your attached streenshots, I have that similar log. Not sure what those screenshots are of. I have also enabled hitboxes to check that way as well.

I made some interesting discoveries:
I was able to recover some invisible villagers, as shown by
[media], by dropping sand on them. When I heard them start to take damage, I reentered the world and they appeared.
I also found some invisible cows, as shown by
[media]. I tried using sand, but they seemed unaffected. Currently, there's a bug in 19w02a where joining the world outside of the spawn chunks can cause some weird desync effects, MC-142114. I ran the command "/setworldspawn
," reentered the world, and the cows appeared.
I also checked the log to see if anything weird was happening with entities, and
[media]shows that there seem to be a bunch of entities with duplicate ids (MC-98027), likely causing this issue.
Were all these entities here originally? Or did you notice they started duplicating/appearing overtime? There are a couple of issues in the snapshot that cause entity duplication, such as MC-138871 and MC-138919.

There probably is a bunch of duplicated IDs as the server says "keeping entity:chicken" and about 40 other things when anyone logs in. I haven't really noticed any absurd duplications in game though. I don't know, I can pour lava on the affected areas but I just cannot place a barrel or a nice piece of sandstone where I want. Is there such a thing as a truly invisible entity that won't show up even with hitbox enabled? Server has been running for a while now and it's just a few places. Added some screenshots of the barrel I was talking about and how no entities around, I think it affects everyone on the server, and a bit of information is that a sign used to be on top but I chopped it off and never was able to place again.

To clarify what I meant by I haven't seen many absurd duplications is that some of the villagers have the exact same trades and I think since the world was generated on 18w50a they duped in that update, this update not so much, but I do get that log thing each time. Should I try to set the server spawn near our base and see if it works?

Yes, I don't think the client has any idea that these entities exist.

Just tried this, it revealed some of the entities, but not all.
There is an MCEdit filter in MC-95649 that could possibly help.

So the issue isn't resolved then. Is it going to be taken into account before the Village and Pillage update? Just now I was able to place the barrel I was trying, and there were like a lot more Librarian villagers that had turned into zombies that the golems killed. Unsure about it all.
This issue has been resolved as a duplicate. The main ticket, MC-95649, is still open. I’m not sure when this will be fixed; I’m just a mod.

But how do you know it's from the keeping entity spam? You're still assuming that the mobs are what is blocking it? And also the fix you suggested with MCEdit was a plugin only to be used on MCEdit 1, not 2. How can you load these worlds in MCEdit 1, or how do you use that guys python code as a plugin in MCEdit 2? It says its a legacy plugin?

I confirmed I had that entity uuid issue but at the same time I also have the torchlight not working issue in certain chunks, so I opened separate issues, those things don't seem related but if all of them are truly the uuid issue like torchlight being considered not there then my bad. It seems like everything is "resolved" and everyone still has bugs.

This is getting to the point of no return. If there are truly invisible entities then they are everywhere because no arrows can shoot anywhere, pillagers cant shoot a foot in front of them, and all the mobs are just standing there shaking in place like they can't move. I can place some blocks but still seems laggy like the number of entities is just compounding. I see in the console that a lot are being kept. Is there no fix? 19w03a is hardly working due to the entity spam.
That is a new issue in 19w03a, MC-142368.

Okay and just don't suggest using that MCEdit filter as it's on version 1.x and MCEdit 2+ is req'd for these snapshot maps.

Cannot place blocks after clearing an area (mining cobblestone and replacing with dirt. Some blocks will flash and then disappear.) Leaving the area and then returning later allows me to place the block.
