Sometimes, items can despawn instantly, or very shortly (< 1 minute) after dying.
When this happens exactly and how to reproduce is unclear as of now.

Cannot reproduce in 19w12b. This was likely caused by MC-144784.
this happened in my world when dying in a very badly loading world. they don't disappear. they fall into the void through blocks
The first time this happened to me i assumed i took too long to retrieve my items but the next time it happened it was right next to my home and i am pretty sure it was beyond my chunk load distance so.
This is in single player by the way
Hello, i was using the xbox one minecraft to play on my brothers world while he was gone. So my brothers character would sit afk and I would use my phone to connect and play in the same world. I logged in for the second time today and noticed my brothers inventory was completely gone. Nothing was there, he did not die and he did not respawn at spawn point. He was safe in his shelter and my characters items did not disappear. Im the lucky one. Im playing on bedrock edition BTW. V 1.12.0. Please help me get my brother's inventory back.
Is this issue being fixed? This recently happened to me, and I want to know if it is still being worked on.
I experienced this issue in the 1.16.1 Nether- in one instance, only my pickaxe remained in my original death location, and about 20 blocks away were some other miscellaneous blocks from my inventory. Died from fall damage due to a hoglin throw, so there was nothing that would have propelled those items that far away. In the other instances, other players could not find any of their things.
Has anyone had this happen in Singleplayer? If not, this is a duplicate of MC-117783.
Does this still happen in 19w12b?
