When playing the game with crash and go "Not Responding" or completely freeze up the Computer.
I posted this a while ago and it was closed for being a "Technical Issue" not a Minecraft issue, that is NOT the case I would appreciate this not being closed for that reason again.
I have updated drivers, java and lwjgl so it is not anything to do with those.
In attached file 'hs_err_pid6604.log' I would suggest it has to do with `org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11.nglEndList` in `net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.K` according to the Java Frames section.
Please fix this urgently as the game is completely unplayable.

Would you mind explaining how you came to the conclusion this is a technical issue please? Just because the problem reports the issue being the library, does not necessarily mean it's a "technical issue".
It's an issue caused by your system, and not something under the control of the Minecraft developers. It's your hardware, or drivers, or OS, or something else. They cannot be expected to work around bugs in other people's code.
These sort of crashes are completely out of our control. The best we can do is suggest you trying the new launcher and/or install different drivers.
Has this issue been plaguing you for a long time? I'm guessing it happened sometime after you updated something.
Also we haven't seen any crashlog from within the game, could you force one by playing and holding F3+C for 10 seconds? It should force a crash so you can attach the logs here.
This has been happening for a very long time, yes. From around release I have had issues with the game crashing and posting the log I attached to my desktop, however it lately just crashes my PC and I am lucky if I can be in game for more than 5 seconds. I have a crash log from the last time I posted this issue.
The issue is worse in the new launcher, causing the game to bug out graphically too with a sort of "X-ray" effect everywhere. If you put your head in glowstone, you get the effect, however this was just everywhere walking around.
I'm really not sure how you want us to fix issues happening in code we're not shipping.
I mean, if the stack says:
C [nvoglv64.DLL+0x9ccf5b] DllMain+0x1c91b
or
C [ig4icd64.dll+0x6f3764] ShCompile+0x131804
It's happening in your own drivers, nothing we're shipping.
Also if this would not be a localized problem (so just on your system) wouldn't you expect everyone to be complaining?
I agree that it would be really nice IF we could do something about it, but fact of the matter is, we cannot.
I can only suggest to update/change/downgrade your drivers and inform nvidia/ati about the problem.
Also please realize that we in theory could report the issue, it is fairly pointless as when ati/nvidia would ask us a single question we'd not be able to answer it because we do not have a setup to replicate the problem on. This is the reason that we're suggesting that you should report this bug.
Could it be a possibility that a part of the Minecraft code is actually forcing a part of the graphics driver to degrade over time this resulting in this issue? I've found that if I do a clean install of the drivers, the game will run flawlessly for roughly 6 hours (tested 7 times so far) and then will crash out and post a java.log to desktop. Is this a possibility, and if so would you then consider looking into it?
I just managed to solve my similar problem (sort of) - are you using Device Manager (in control panel -> system -> device manager) to update the graphics drivers, or are you downloading them from the website? When I updated using Device Manager, they worked perfectly and fixed the problem. I think it is because the website ones are "generic" but the Device Manager ones are tailored to your install.
So I've gotten that fed up of this issues I have completely re-installed Windows. Just got java and minecraft back, and it seems to be working ok. Played for about 20 minutes so not conclusive yet, will comment once I've logged more hours.
Resolving all JVM crashes in ig4icd64.dll to MC-14051 (possible solution there)
This file is part of your graphics driver.
