Horses "stutter" while moving

Horses seem to stutter while running, momentarily pausing while being ridden or moving of own accord. Appears to only happen while horse is equipped with armor

SHould I post a you tube link of a video of it occuring? It doesn't seem to be connected to chunks loading as it occurs in fully loaded chunks

Is this in singleplayer or multiplayer?

Happens to me, also i looked at the launcher when it was happening and it shows "Cannot keep up!" error

Cannot keep up error with my setup also. I can run the game with optimal graphics on vanilla textures, but horses stutter a lot.
FPS and rest of the world is unaffected. FPS is 45ish during testing, no anomalies. During horse stutter, other mobs (sheep, cows etc) are not affected.

Every time new chunks are generated, the horse stops and won't move until chunk generation is complete.

Horse works normally when in pre-generated areas.

edit: Windows 7, Java 7, MC Version 1.6.1 pre-release singleplayer

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Problem persists in 1.6.2, with or without horse armor.

Reproducible just by creating a new world, spawning a horse, taming it, placing a saddle and traveling to ungenerated chunks.

No movement stutter while player character is on foot, even with speed boosts.

It happens to me too, extremely often (windows 7, java 1.7.0 from oracle). Problem persists at least until 1.7.10. It seems to happen after a while of riding though, might be triggered by sprinting while on a horse as it seems to make it happen faster. Unmounting, letting the horse rest, reloading the world, closing Minecraft, emptying RAM, or even restarting the computer or run scans don't change a thing.
