[MC-15484] chicken despawn

i was playing and i go to check my chicken farm and the all was not there i switch to creative and spawn them again after a while the despawn again

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

This seems to be happening in the latest snapshot on my server. We are cruel and keep all of our animals in 1x1x2 holes and I went back to spawn after updating to the latest snapshot and after a while the just disappeared.
The sam happened at my house and I am the only one who knows where that is.
