minecraft keeps freezing

on Minecraft 1.14.3 the Mojang loading screen comes up, and when the red bar is about 80% of the way to the end, the game freezes and I have to use the task manager to shut it down. sometimes the game will load and it will allow me to go to the singleplayer screen and allow me to select create a new world, but after I choose the game mode and press create, the game freezes. I tried using version 1.12.2 and the it allowed me to create a new game, but then Minecraft froze on the "building terrain" screen. after I close Minecraft using the task manager and sometimes Minecraft just crashes, the launcher has a "view crash report" button, but when I click the button, nothing happens. it only allows me to click the "close" button. on the game output:
