Moderator Note
This exit code can be the result of various issues, and can be difficult to pinpoint the source. Often times, it is can be caused by the game running out of memory. Check your JVM arguments, or remove any resource packs installed for this.
This might also be caused by malware, such as premieropinion. Running adwcleaner removes it
If this is not the cause, please see the support page for more info.
Note that, in some cases, doing a clean installation of the game fixes the issue.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

This is a technical support issue, please follow the instructions of this guide: Exit Code: -805306369. If all that won't help, please use the Mojang Support Center.

I am now getting a new error in GameBarPresenceWriter.exe when attempting to load a new game or a previous saved game. This occured during when the brown screen loaded at 0% and then a small MC tooltip appeared in the top, right of window. The game was stuck at this point.

I am still trying to get this fixed but no-one has any idea. I asked the helpers in the IRC chat and they banned me!! So please can you fix this?

Okay, after nearly 12 hours of searching and getting no sleep, I managed to find a fix for this. The issue seems to have been the JVM arguments. For those also struggling with this, please try this fix: in the MC lancher, click advanced settings, and got to JVM, open Notepad, copy and paste the JVM text into Notepad. Delete the text in the JVM box now. Then in the JVM box type the following: -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled -XX:+CMSPermGenSweepingEnabled -XX:PermSize=128m
Click off the green JVM buttom and come out and then load your game. It should work. Save the Notepad file just in case you need to revert back.

I tried to visit an old world, specifically a world that was created in 1.16 and has been updated to 1.17.1 ~two years ago, but now, whenever i try to enter in that version to the world, it starts to launch the world but, whenever it writes joining world it changes to saving world and crashes, then I get Exit code -805306369.
After spending two nights clearing space from my computer by following the steps of what they send me to this bug report which didn't help, and in case it still doesnt work, the article said: [To allocate more RAM, open the game launcher, and press the “Edit Profile” button at the bottom left. There should be a checkbox called “JVM arguments”, check that and input: -Xmx2G to give 2GB to the game, or -Xmx2560M to give 2560MB. Once you have checked and inputted the data, hit “Save Profile”.]
Which seems to be outdated because I don't know where is the "Edit Profile" button is in the launcher. Can anyone help me with it?

AmazingMat
You can find it on the "Installations" tab at the top of Launcher, then click on one of the installer and expand "More Options".

This is happening to me as well, and this bug was discovered 9 years ago? I was trying to play on the reccomended version of Forge 1.18.2 so I could play Cracker's WIther Storm Mod with the latest version of Flywheel for 1.18.2 as well. I create/join a world, and when it finishes that world loading screen saver of the world being generated it crashes and gives me the exit code -805306369 when the Launcher opens back up. Can someone, a moderator, PLEASE give options to fix this bug? I want it done as soon as possible so I can play Minecraft: Java Edition again.

lol got this crash from closing Minecraft b1.7.3
i assume its because i had the f3 menu open while in the main menu
but it seems it's not replicable, sadly

i had this porbelm
i just launched minecraft java edition 1.19.1 with opftine and pressed some ramdom keys on my keyboard and my game crashed with exit code
-805306369

Strange fix since changing ram allocation doesn't work:
Launch the game, it should be frozen and shouldn't be going past the loading screen
Do TAB+Win and open a new desktop
Open the launcher in that new desktop
Press launch and then do TAB+Win and go to the first desktop (the one with the frozen executable
Hopefully a working instance of the game should pop up (I have no clue why or how this works)

I had the same exit code by pressing Alt+F4, after trying to join singleplayer worlds or servers without success. The game was fully frozen in the "Loading terrain..." screen.
In addition I had the exit code "65540 invalid time inf" in the output log of the launcher. After some trying around and googling, I realized that my max. fps in the options.txt file was set to 0, so Minecraft's rendering engine has not had any chance to render the game. I had not modified the options.txt at all, so I have no clue how this could happen. The issue occured in 1.17.1, 1.18, 1.18.1. In 1.8.9 and 1.19 or newer it did not occur.

Everytime I launch forge inn 1.16.5 it crashes at "Saving World" even without mods and without ressources packs.

no matter what i do to allocate more memory, it doesnt work and just gives me the same error code

nikki242 weirdly enough the fix for me was running the game in windowed mode. Please try it and let me know if it helped

i dont know what happened i just made every single cow summon another cow and then it just stopped all of a sudden ¯_(ツ)_/¯

got this error from exiting alpha 0.0.13a lol

Hello, I had this problem just a few minutes ago. In my case, all I did was lower the resolution distance in my Minecraft, it for some reason kept giving me Code -805306369 when it did indeed crash, however, I believe that it might've been something else (kind of weird for it to work when I just lower render distance and the max framerate)

I can't open minecraft's newer versions without crashing with a white / black screen, the exit code is -805306369

launching 1.12.2 with mods, i didnt add a mod in like 1 month so i dont know why its crashing now
-805306369

the game is crashed, i didn't using any mods in my minecraft...and i didn't use optifine or shader on it.. i just playing regular minecraft java edition 1.19.3 with nothing installed on it like mod, shader or any of it....my windows is up to date....and the game when i enter is always ''not responding''

I stepped into a nether portal and game crashed, causing me to lose my hardcore world. Every time I try to reboot the game, I get get to 100%, I hear the portal sound and then my game crashes getting this error code. Please tell me there's something I can do or something to recover my world. this is very depressing.

I entered the ender portal and it doesn't go in anymore.
I am very sad right now.

i got this while trying to play one block at a time snapshot

This still happens in 1.19.3. Any ideas or information I can gather to help the team fix this. Produces a BSOD even though at this point I have given the application 10GB. -Xmx10G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M

hi i know im late but i could have the solution for you:
so first make a backup on google drive so you dont lose your world;
then downgrade and play your world on 1.18 until 1.20 comes out
hopefully it works
but
if it still crashes
make sure you have a safe backup and reinstall the launcher

game crashed when i made new world

My game crashed when I launched Minecraft with Supplementaries mod.

Modded games are not supported.

Resolved by deleted my ".minecraft" folder in %appdata% and re-lauching my Minecraft Launcher

I have tried every possible thing I have found. ( giving more ram, reinstalling, deleting. Minecraft, updating drivers, restarting) nothing has changed it opens the red screen with the progress bar at the bottom gets to almost the end freezes and then gives me this error. Any other ideas?

Honestly I have been experiencing the same thing I did everything you did and I'm having the same exact problem if you get any info and it works do you mind adding me on discord or emailing me by chance cause I'm struggling ;,)
𝖇𝖚𝖓𝖓𝖞#8687

When I launch the game, the bar in the mojang red screen barely completes and freezes. I tried adding more memory, reinstalling, etc., and nothing seems to work, does someone know why it happens?

note: This issue may be related to versions / files. (seen on 1.20.1;most likely found on every other version)
Plausible causes: GPU over usage ; CPU over usage, Mods.

*ETA: Update! Deleting the '.minecraft' folder and then re-opening the launcher solved the problem for me as well. Still not sure why.

Comparison notes for the tech support gods:
Opening the launcher in 1.17.1, with no resource packs or mods,
I'm able to get to the start screen and open the multiplayer connect screen.
Once I try to connect to a server it goes through the log-in messages normally, until 'Joining world',
but then switches to a 'Saving world' (??) message and freezes completely.
Opening the launcher in newer versions works fine.

I got this error when I turn on the blink and breadcrumbs modules with meteor client

Game keeps freezing for me when "Saving World", whether it is the autosave in LAN (most often), or lately also in singleplayer when opening the options menu or trying to save and quit. The freeze ALWAYS leads to a forced crash, as the game never weaks up. I have not used any mods when this started happening, and only installed lithium and sodium to see if lowering CPU load would help (It did not): It makes it impossible to keep playing on LAN and often even single player

My worlds randomly start freezing and not responding before getting this error. I have an RTX 3050 Ti Mojang, this should not be happening.

keeps happening every time i use draw cube, but not in my other map, carve me out! <---------- get it now?
it never stops until i use any other mode thats not in draw cube list
😞
debug screen text never appears in 1 map but not the other one

happens when i start breaking a block

I've been having this problem for half a year now (almost since 1.20 update arrived) I am able to open the game from the launcher to the game menu without problems, but when I'm opened an old world and even a new world, the loading screen reaches 100% and game crashes, having to close the game and leaving this message in its place.
This didn't happen to me before, but I hope it can be resolved soon (to clarify, I don't have any mods, resource packs or anything like that installed, it's completely vanilla).
It's someone having the same problem on the 2023? If so, how did you resolve it?

It happens whenever I join a world on the forge version of 1.17.1 for some reason idk why

pudiste arreglarlo?

Having trouble trying to open a world or create a world as it freezes on the "saving world" screen and then crashes whenever i click

im having the same issue sadly, if I find a solution ill let you know.

I was playing modded minecraft, when this error code showed up and said that I need to allocate more RAM to minecraft. I allocated 8 gb instead of 6 and this still shows up. I have 168 mods idk what to do.

got this immediately after starting a hypixel bedwars game in version 1.20.4.

Hello / Hola
The same thing happened to me as to most of you, I can open the game from the launcher to the game menu without problems, but when I open an old world and even a new world, the loading screen reaches 100% and the game It hangs. , having to close the game and leaving this error message -805306369 in its place. I had a recent version of Optifine downloaded, I started the game from that version and when I tried to create a new world it let me play perfectly, in the process I removed a shader that I had on, closed the game and reopened the game. I entered any version and now if I let myself play, I don't know if it can help anyone else, but nothing is lost by trying, if someone has the real solution or solutions I would like to read it. Thank you
Gracias

I got this when updating from pre-release 3 to pre-release 4

I've had trouble with this bug when using the better end / better nether mod. When entering one of these modded dimensions, my game would load for very long and then crash. In addition, within the first 10 minutes of being online in a world, my game will freeze and update frames very slowly making the game unplayable. But I've found a solution. Going into the minecraft launcher and finding your current installation under the installations tab and clicking on the dots and then edit. From there, hit more options and find the JVM arguments. The beginning will say Xmx or something similar. After those letters you may see 2G or any number before a G. This is how much RAM is dedicated to minecraft. The more you allocate, the more resources minecraft has. When playing modded its recommended to set the number before the G to atleast 4. When you play with 100 or 200 mods you may want to set it to the 6-8 range. Once youve edited this number, hit save and open minecraft.

My problem is when trying to open a specific ReplayMod recording. It just goes to the loading screen but no message appears and nothing else happens.
After a few minutes the game crashes by itself or when I click the screen or something, and i get this exit code.
It's weird because I have no problems with any of the other recordings, so I don't know what's going on.
I changed the JVM arguments from 2G to 8G and now to 12G, but no change noticed. I have 32GB of RAM.
I hope someone can help me because I need that recording for a video

I found this bug when I stacked 30 carts and pushed them against a wall. While they were moving I got into one of them and when the carts touched the wall the entire environment was black and all three axes of the player's position were NaN. This happened on the last captured frame before the game crashed. In the logs I found that the rotation of the carts and the player was also NaN after colliding with the block when the game crashed and closed in the launcher an error with this code popped up. It was on snapshot 24w36a.

found this bug my traveling to 2.1474836415E9 which is actually 2,147,483,641, then touching the world border. the version was 1.12.2

For anyone who can't load into a world (offline or online) OR the game crashes as soon as it tries to load, in the Minecraft Launcher change the Game Directory your Installation is using to an empty folder and it should work. One of the cached files in the Game Directory folder the game is using likely does not work for the version of the game you're trying to run, and so that game version needs its own folder. If it's the only version of the game you play, delete everything that is not important to you (world saves, resource packs, etc) in your .minecraft folder and let the Launcher re-download everything it needs and that should fix the game in the same way.
For information, I was crashing on 1.13.2 trying to load into an offline world or my local server as soon as the world tried to load. I didn't have any problems on every major version 1.8.8 up to 1.12.2. I tried changing the Java executable, the command line arguments, re-downloading the 1.13.2 jar and nothing changed. I changed the Game Directory folder to a random empty folder and it loaded. All other settings are at their default and it is working. I was not using any mods or texture/resource packs of any kind. Pure vanilla.
Edit: I had the same problem on 1.14.4, but it happened as soon as the game launched instead of trying to load into a world. Same fix suggested above worked.
Edit: Same problem on 1.15.2, but it went back to the previous problem of crashing when the world tried to load, though this time it crashed on the screen saying "Saving world" rather than the moment it looks like you're loading into the world.
Edit: Since it was probably going to happen for every version after 1.12.2, I decided to delete everything in my .minecraft folder since I didn't have anything I wished to keep. Note that this will reset your launcher settings and force you to log in again as well as lose all of your installations, worlds, resource packs, mods, etc. So be sure to backup anything important to you before you do this. After re-downloading everything and launching 1.8 and then 1.15.2, both work with the same Game Directory, so I assume some cached files just didn't work for versions past 1.12.2 for me, but now they work for every version.

i got this in 1.21.5 when playing hypixel

Got this on 1.12.2 today for the first time, and after that it happens in every other version as well. Reinstalled minecraft completely (backed up worlds and deleted all the other files) two times, but the issue is still there.

Tried more solutions I found here, eventually lost every single world, server IP, mod etc I had.
In conclusion: if you get this error, don’t bother fixing it, unless you are ok with losing literally everything you have done so far in minecraft.
