Villagers don't remember bed or workstation

I have my villagers in an iron farm and it worked great until I went to the nether, then returned. When I came back to the farm, non of the villagers would sleep nor work, even though their beds and workstations were within reach. I had to destroy their beds/workstations and replace with new ones to get them to interact with them again.

I have the same issue.

I have a similar issue. I have 3 villagers in a 3*1 cell and each of them has a bed and a workstation. It seems that when I unload the area (even in the spawn chunks) the villagers forget their bed and 2 or more villagers pick the same bed. I would guess that its the same with the workstations.

It still happens in 1.14.4

I have the same problem in my Iron Farm. I had to put a reset mechanism to the zombies if the stuck in an unpowered rail and the other problem is the villagers.

In my farm they don't lose workstation sync... but they lose bed sync. The farm is at spawn chunks, and it works fine until I go to Nether/End and come back to overworld. Each time I come back to overworld they can lose their bed sync, so I have to go each villagers cell and put crystals to avoid they go away while i'm changing beds again to restore iron farm.

Checked it running my vanilla world with fabric + carpet, and yes, villagers lose bed sync randomly each time overworld is loaded.

I have the same issue, villagers lose workstation sync and bed sync.
I had them in a one floor trading hub configuration, sorting them in shops by job. So four farmers would be in one shop, with four beds and four composters.
However, when adding new villagers in a new shop near them, some of them would stay awake at night having exchanged beds with a villager of another shop.
Also, when I decided to add another shop of four farmers, they also seemed to exchange the composters, preventing them from restocking.
This makes impossible to set up shops, or to organize the villagers in anyway to make trading easier.
Just to clarify, I used the farmers in the example, but all jobs have the same issue.

Having trouble reproducing this. Does anyone have more specific repro steps? Or a video? Or a saved world right before or after the problem happened? That would help a lot.

Gordon Tavistock

I struggled a long time with this problem. One of the beds in my iron farm was always forgotten about after I came back from the nether. Replacing the beds seemed to fix the problem temporarily most times. Eventually I solved the problem by rebuilding that section of the farm in a different design, which worked for some reason. If the problem occurs again I’ll see if I can contribute with a save or other documentation.

(Btw, the other quadrants of the farm, which were built exactly the same way, had no issues. So the problem is not in the farm design itself).

I can't repro this - can anybody confirm if they have experienced this in Nether Update snapshots?

Dmitry Konev

They sometimes get lost and forget their beds, target other beds, even though their bed is right next to them, refuse to sleep. Never experienced issues with work stations (I play in my survival world on snapshots)

Thommy Siverman

This is something we can't reproduce, so I'm resolving this report.

If anyone out there can successfully repro, add the version and proper repro steps.
