Using End Gateway Portal spawns characters on air blocks or on sides of blocks.

Throwing an ender pearl into an End Gateway Portal (the one that takes you to and from the outer islands can spawn players in a position where they will immediately fall into the void and die (this just happened to me on my hardcore world I've been playing for 150 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I couldn't see where i was initially spawned in but I assume it was either on an air block or on the side of a block. I threw a pearl into the gateway after a long trip through the outer islands and immediately fell into the void and died, losing my entire world and weeks of playtime through no fault of my own.

To re-create:
Defeat the ender dragon
Use the portal to get to the outer islands
Return through the portal
There's a chance you will not spawn on solid foothold especially if the portal was generated away from the land.

Please fix this urgently and make the portal spawn you on a solid block, I'm nearly in tears over this
