when I mine a minecart to pick it up sometimes it disappears without a trace

Im on singlplayer in my own world and when I try to get a minecart off the track by hitting it till it turns into an item like normal sometimes it just doesn't appear as an item its just gone

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/guides/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.
Once attached, the report will be reopened automatically.

I happen to have exactly the same problem here (on Java Edition). After mining any minecart or any boat it just disappears and doesn't drop anything. Currently I'm playing on a server which runs locally on my PC, but any other connected player experience the same minecart and boat behavior. It's pretty annoying and metal-cost heavy so fixing this bug would be very appreciated.
We play on an old map generated in like 2012 or something like this but the newest Minecraft Server app seemed to be fine with it.
I have attached my game crash report (crash-2019-09-28_20.11.11-client.txt) obtained following your instructions (F3 + C).
@unknown, this ticket has been filed for the 1.15 snapshots, while you're playing in 1.14.4. Please create a new ticket for your issue.
Also, it would be very helpful if you could provide a short video showcasing the bug, or a guide on how to reproduce the issue consistently.
