[MC-163813] The foot and head of a bed aren't placed or broken simultaneously

Place a bed:

the foot is placed, ➕
a fraction of a second of lag happens (this is the issue), ❌
the head is placed. ➕

Background:
This behavior started in Update Aquatic snapshot 17w50a, if that helps narrows it down.
