Campfire under bees don't calm bees if open trapdoor is between the campfire and bee nest

When bees get honey taken they will get mad at the player unless their is a campfire underneath the bee hive. Logically its the smoke that is supposed to be calming them. But when you have an open trapdoor underneath the bee hive the smoke travels through but the bees still get angry. I assume this is because the code is checking for an unobstructed campfire underneath the bee hive or nest instead of checking for the smoke. But it would be better if such things as trapdoors would be ignored by the check if it is open and scaffolding should be ignored all together. This would be good because you can have a bee farm where the bees are not smoked 24 7 and are only smoked for the few seconds when the honey is being gathered. They will also not be damaged by the campfire because they often fly low to the fire and take damage from the campfire.

just had this issue myself 19w46b, so i'm hoping the 'resolved' means next snapshot it will be fixed? i don't want my bees or villagers getting burned, but a trapdoor is so much nicer than constantly snuffing and reigniting the fire.

Can you attach a screenshot of your setup?

screenshots added. sometimes bottles and shears are okay, but breaking it always angers the bees.

I am having the same exact problem the bees are really aggressive whenever I have the trap door open and the smoke should be calming them.

My solution to this is to just smoke them 24/7 with a campfire directly underneath the hive. It can't set the hive on fire so it doesn't matter how close it is and if you completely surround the campfire with blocks then they can't get into it and burn themselves.

@unknown This has been fixed and should not happen in any of the full releases of 1.15 anymore.
