The bug
Boats now are filled with water when placed in water. This is probably caused by the rendering code that used to remove the water texture inside of the boat no longer working.

Is there any particular reason why this ticket is now the parent ticket instead of yesterday's? Or was that a mistake?
Edit: Talked with Mojang staff, and it was a mistake. Nevertheless, this is now the parent ticket as it has been triaged already and we don't want to break any of Mojang's internal tools.
