I was AFK'ing overnight at my slime farm, then 30 seconds after moving around, all mobs, golems, villagers etc just froze and i get stuck in Flight mode (as though i am flying with the elytra or swimming). I can still move around etc but stuck in that orientation and every time i jump i am stuck in flight. The game doesn't crash, it just gets stuck, and i have to task manager kill java to exit the game as exit and saving just hangs on the "saving world" screen.
PS: Just tried loading it up on 19w46a and does the same thing

New World is the one you want, i uploaded the whole saves folder, sorry.
The others are very small anyway, as they barely got used
There are about 34,800 item entities in that world. Do you have any idea what could have caused that many items to be created without them despawning / within the last 5 minutes (in-game) this world was running?
Note that item entities are only item stacks lying on the ground, not stuff stored in chests.
No those entities wouldn't have been created in the last 5 minutes of playing the game, as i'd just finished AFK'ing for about 7 hours before i moved from the location and villagers etc stopped moving and i was stuck in flight/swimming mode.
The slime farm was created several hours before the issue arose, but 90% of the resources are stored in chests on the walls of the slime farm.
Could those be from instamining in the past and leaving the location before they despawned ?
For me it doesn't do that anymore. I can go there, pistons are firing as expected.
Are you sure you put the file at the right location of the right world? The explorer should have notified you that the file already exists and if you want to replace it.
Yeah i put it in the /.minecraft/saves/New World/region folder, and overwrote it. I even deleted the original file and put yours in there, after they still froze, just to make sure it replaced the file properly, but still froze the villagers etc 30 seconds in like before, then the game completely froze when i went down the ladders towards the melon farms. I then restarted the game. and it loaded up as me repelling down the ladder, then just froze the game again, tried about 5 times.
Are there any caching files or something like that which i can clear ? or maybe a clean reinstall of minecraft perhaps, and just put the saves back in. I loaded an old backup from a week ago, which is running fine, but i'd rather not lose all the work i've done from the last week if possible, but if not then i'll just have to redo it, it's a pain, but at least the game works with it. So if there's nothing i can do to get this save working, i'll just grind through the last weeks worth of stuff and do it again, but without the overflow of bamboo (did some fiddling and solved that issue), and yes, there weren't enough furnaces to burn off all the bamboo, so it was backing up at the hoppers
Hmm, weird.
I also uploaded the entire save file now, let me know if this works for you: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dnh88o76ski271n/New%20World.zip?dl=0
Ok, i'll give it a try and let you know. If it doesn't work, i still appreciate the help anyway, thanks.
Well, there had to be some other file in that save folder that had data stuck or something in mine, because i replaced the New World folder with your complete one, and it works, i'm no coder or anything, but i can only guess something else was modified when you fixed it in that folder, and only replacing that region file didn't fix it.
I can't thank you enough for fixing it, that will save me a solid week replacing everything i'd lost and all the work i'd done. I will implement the xp farm modification (as very first thing) just to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Thankyou again 🙂
Please attach your zipped save file to this ticket. If the file is too big to be uploaded directly to the tracker, please upload it elsewhere and link it here.
