[MC-168213] Unable to edit beehive's NBT tag(s)

I wanted to test my honey farm,i placed all components and i used /data block ~ ~-1 ~ honey_level set value 5 command while standing on beehive to accelarate the process. After that, i looked into beehive's NBT tags with F3(Target block section) and honey_level tag still have value 0.

As far as I can tell, the example command you've provided is not valid. You would either have to use:

/data modify block

/data merge block

oh lol,sorry, im just pointed out a wrong command here, but in game i used tab to autocomplete the command(really nice feature,thx)

Honey level is a block state, not NBT. It can't be edited with commands directly
