[MC-173781] Some items in the head slot are rendered completely inside of a player's head

Steps to reproduce:

/replaceitem entity @s armor.head minecraft:item

Go to a wall of blocks, hit f5 and move your head near the wall to see the item rendered completely inside of the head

This ticket only refers to items that are rendered COMPLETELY inside of the head with no visible parts outside of the head

This is WAI; block models on the head are scaled based on their actual size and conduits are pretty small.

It explains the size, but it doesn't explain position. You don't wear a hat inside your head. ;-]
