MC-176004

Cannot interact with the world after dying in the end or the nether without a valid spawn point

The bug

When dying in the Nether or in the End without a valid spawn point, after respawning you cannot place blocks or use portals.

After closing and reopening the world, MC-175988 will happen.

To reproduce

  1. Have no valid spawn point (run /spawnpoint at a blocked location)

  2. Go to the end or the nether

  3. Die

  4. Try to place blocks or use nether portals
    → ❌ Both won't work

This appears to be a special case of MC-175988 – if you die in the Nether or the End.

Yes whenever I die I delete the world because of that

It is so annoying

Please mojang fix this bug

This is the worst bug that has ever happened and happened ...
I hope the Java team is working on this, it is very detrimental to the gameplay 😞

This actually happened to me as well when I was in the over world. A few times. But has happened to me as well. (happened let's say about hour 20 minutes ago)

I think it's likely that the next snapshot will mainly focus on fixing this and MC-175988, though I might be wrong.

You are probably right @unknown. 20w13b will most likely just be a transition snapshot that will only fix a few bugs (including these) and then 20w14a will come with content again.
