[MC-178560] Randomly stopping and losing momentum while flying with elytra

I am flying with elytra and randomly occasionally I lose all my momentum and not moving and start falling and I have to use more fireworks or riptide to get up again.

Works as intended, it's a hacky fix but it's to prevent you outpacing the internal server by moving too quickly. Do /gamerule disableElytraMovementCheck true to prevent this however if you're on multiplayer I wouldn't recommend it for the sake of not crashing your server with elytra.

When does this happen? Are you playing on a server or are you in singleplayer mode? Are there any warnings in the game log?
