Soul campfires always drop soul soil, even when they were crafted using soul sand. This means that soul campfires can be used to convert soul sand into soul soil.

To reproduce

1. Use 3 logs, 3 sticks, and 1 soul soil to craft a soul campfire.

2. Place the soul campfire.

3. Break the soul campfire (without using silk touch).

4. It drops 1 soul soil. ✔

5. Use 3 logs, 3 sticks, and 1 soul sand to craft a soul campfire.

6. Place the soul campfire.

7. Break the soul campfire (without using silk touch).

8. It drops 1 soul soil. ❌
