Nether Wastes biome changing with each snapshot

In testing my old world in 1.16 snapshots, I noticed with each snapshot, the Nether Wastes Biome would change, e.g. the previous snapshot it changed to Crimson Forest, with the latest snapshot it changed to Basalt Delta.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or something that will be automatically rectified with the final release, but wanted to raise it to see if anyone else had the same problem.

I believe this is because after every snapshot, the nether generation changes, and hence the game determines due to an updated way to generate the nether, it decides to generate a different biome there.

sure, that's my understanding too, but the point is as with the overworld, prediscovered chunks should remain as they are. I've never had this happen in the overworld through various snapshots in the past, so it shouldn't happen in the nether either.

This has the significant potential of ruining days or weeks of work by rendering existing farms totally broken. I really, really don't want things that i have built being destroyed by the game.

Did stuff change in the same instance of one world, or only when recreating the world with the same seed?
