Ok i will post another picture by 5:30pm GMT. I did rebuild the farm from another world download. It was working in the earlier snapshots. I will go back to the world downlold to confirm it is also affected and report back. thanks
Ah sorry i couldnt get a good screenshot. No i double checked, its a comparator fader timer above powering a redstone line and a four double piston crusher for a gold farm.

Im a bit confused, i was running the vanilla game? I will delete the chunks with MCA Selector tomorrow and try again.

That I can't be sure of, I mean the fact remains that all was fine in 1.17.1. Maybe something was corrupted and appeared fine in 1.17.1 and then upgrading the world somehow made it worse.
Don't worry - you can close this one. I'm not entirely sure what it was that was causing the issue, but I would assume it was an issue with the chunks themselves, maybe corrupted somehow. I had to move all my items and shulkers so that I didn't lose anything. I saved the chests as a structure just in case I lost anything. I reset the chunks using MCA Selector and will just have to build a storage system again.
Yes it was from 1.17.1. interestingly - most chests load fine, is just this particular area. I remade/moved the chests and tried again and the same issue
That's strange. I had tested a backup copy of my 1.16 world, does this apply to worlds previous created in 1.16? I did optimise the world and tested again and I was still getting gold ingots.

Okay, on closer inspection I've realised what the problem is in one of the builds, Basically in Gnembon's design, the pistons which move the items are not getting powered by the redstone dust above them.

Some are spawning. But the rates seem to be affected. On closer inspection I believe it’s more to do with the effectiveness of the bubble columns at moving them. I tested Gnembons portal mosh pit design and Cubfans Bubble column design personally.

Can confirm, my witch farms and slime farms are still broken. So i've had to go back to 20b again. Rates for Guardian farm nerfed.
Thanks mate. Yeah i agree with you. It is really annoying. Thinking of a situation where on a server, like scicraft or hermitcraft where they build a farm or a build in the new caves only to have the water streams or decorative areas infested with glow squid and there is no way to prevent spawns. Ive had to add item filters to my slime farm for instance otherwise i get shulkers filled with slimeballs and glow ink sacs. At least in 1.17 there was a way to prevent the spawns as they had specific conditions. See no reason why those rules couldn't be restored to be honest. Not sure about drops by player kill only though, that would make basic glow squid farms redundant, but definitely agree with the rest of your points.
