Playing with snapshot 20w19a single player on OSX 10.13.6.
This may be working as intended but nether portal generation seems to be doing odd things with the y axis.
I made a portal in the overworld (-126, 63, -18) and it sent me to a portal it made up a warped logs tree (19, 55, 6.7)
I made another back from the nether (-44, 46, 31) to the overworld and I was sent underground (-380, 20, 248)

Sorry to bother, I have a question. I never had a nether portal generate underground in the overworld from a new portal created in the nether. I'm baffled by it actually. It's a level -6. Is this actually intended? As far as being on top of trees, yes that's happened to me before. I wouldn't have thought this was a bug. But, overworld underground just never happened before so I'm not sure how to feel about it or if it's something to consider "fixing". 1.18.2 on an Android Tablet Device. Edit: I forgot to look if this was an McPe ticket 'facepalm'.
That is intentional game behaviour, see the Wiki: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Nether_portal#Portal_linkage_between_Overworld_and_Nether
