Leaves are able to connect to different types of logs. For example, spruce leaves can connect to oak logs even though it is from a different type of tree. This can cause birch leaves to float next to an oak, when the birch is already destroyed.
Steps to Reproduce:
Place a log down
Place leaves of a different kind next to the log
Press F3 and look at an oak leaves block
Observed Behavior:
The leaves have a distance value, meaning the leaves connected to the log of a different type. This is most obvious in normal gameplay when the player is chopping down trees in a forest, and leaves are left floating next to trees of a different kind, like so:

Expected Behavior:
The leaves will have a distance of 7 because they shouldn’t connect to a log of a different tree/log type.

If this is going to be fixed, oak leaves should still connect to jungle logs because bushes in jungles have jungle logs and oak leaves.
Wood doesn't discriminate, it supports all types of Leaves, so this is very likely to be intended.
