Beacon Beams Flickering Randomly

PROBLEM: The beacon beams seem to flicker on and off, without altering with the beacons. Note that when the beacon beams randomly turn on/off they all do so at the same time. Problem still occurs after reload of world and/or minecraft.

HOW TO CREATE IT: I have created a beacon beam colour swapper (glass blocks are placed over beam via pistons). When many beacon beam swappers are placed in the world the beams randomly turning on and off even though there are NO SOLID blocks above them and the beacon bases are constructed. The problem only occurs when all the colour swappers are running at once, and not when each is ran individually.

It seams as if the world has become overwelmed by changing beacon colours so has decided to not render them. When the colour swapper machines are turned off all the beacon beams render again.

As seen on the two images I have stripped the machine away so you can clearly see no blocks are obstructing the beacon beam. The screenshots have been taken 3 seconds apart, in the exact same location yet one shows a beacon beam and the other doesn't.

Please follow the instructions in MC-179845, and check if it resolves the issue.

MC-179845 "Rain falls through any blocks in some spots" does not fix my issue, this is a completely unrelated bug. Erasing the cached data as instructed by MC-179845 does not fix the issue.

Does MC-147777 describe your issue?

MC-147777 does not describe my issue. MC-147777 refers to the beam turning white when it should be coloured. However in the bug I found (MC-185876) there is no beacon beam at all, when there should be.

Is this still a problem in 20w51a or 1.16.4? If so, please attach a screenshot with your F3 debug menu enabled. Thanks! 🙂
