When a mob notices an invisible player, they will persue from too far away. They will follow the player as long as this player is within their "visible player" detection range. Expected is they don't follow the player outside their "invisible player" detection range.
To reproduce, become invisible and spawn at least 2 creepers. Any creepers that have seen you will persue you from 16 blocks away instead of about 2 blocks away.

Happens in 1.16.20 Pre 1 too.
My bad, i mean't 1.16.2, not 1.16.20.

This is a change request, not a bug.
This worked different for me on a different/older version like 1.7. and this was never stated on the changelog. Bedrock works differently and only persue you like this if a player hits it.
This report was made to address (one of) the remaining problems with invisibility and mobs. This behavior might be unintentional according to the resolution of MC-89309
