Breaking some block-like entities does not lower item's durability

  • Minecarts (any type)

  • Paintings

  • Item Frames

has no impact on the item's durability. It is weird how axes and swords break boats and minecarts faster but are basically indestructible. 

To reproduce

  1. Spawn a boat

  2. Go into survival mode

  3. Attack a boat with a sword/an axe
    → ❌ The sword takes no durability.

Cannot reproduce for armor stands.

Can confirm that this is an issue in 20w51a, however, as stated above, this does not affect armor stands.

Can confirm in 21w06a.

Armor stands not being affected is MC-152223

Can confirm in 1.17.1.

Can confirm in 1.18.2 and 22w18a.

This issue still exists in Minecraft 1.19.4.
