Rain/Thunder Respawns Quicker After Using "/weather clear" Command

So I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I think it is. I've noticed this for years now and it has been so prevalent for me that I often turn off weather in creative worlds.

If it starts raining/snowing/thundering, I will often try to turn it off with commands, but when I do that, about 5-6 minutes later, rain/thunderstorm will spawn, more often a thunderstorm I think. I'll despawn it, and sure enough, another 5-6 minutes later, another one spawns.

I've noticed this for years now, so I think it goes back a few versions, but I'm not sure where it started exactly.

From the wiki:

weather <clear|rain|thunder> [duration]

duration specifies the time in seconds for the specified weather to last. Must be between 1 and 1,000,000 (inclusive, without the commas). If duration is omitted, the duration will default to 5 minutes.

I've had this happen for years now too, it's always bugged me, but now I finally decided to see if it peeved anyone else off.
Definitely the exact same issue, been in the game for a while, not sure how long.
But yeah, it would be much nicer if when you cleared the weather, it didn't spitefully come back after 5 minutes without fail.

You could workaround it by running /weather rain 1. This sets the weather to rain for 1 tick, which means the weather will naturally go to clear, which seems to last much longer than running /weather clear. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
