Rain particles render wrong texture

I was playing last pre-release (6) when it started raining with these particles. It occurred right after I came through the Nether.
I'm not sure to what this texture belongs originally. It looks like a leatherworker or some smith villager clothing.

Wrong textures being in the wrong places are very often caused by a non-vanilla client. Are you sure that you are using the vanilla Minecraft client?

Does the issue persist if you disable all resource packs?

If it does, please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|https://minecrafthopper.net/help/guides/finding-minecraft-data-folder/]) here.

I can't seem to be able to reproduce the bug.
I attach the crash report if it is of any help. My current resource packs were still active since I wasn't experiencing the glitch.

If I manage to reproduce it I will deactivate the resource packs to see if that was the issue, and if persists I will force another crash and report it again.

Disable all resource packs and see if the issue persists.

Can this still be reproduced in the latest 1.17 development snapshot?

I have not tried 1.17 snapshots nor the release, but I'm not being able to reproduce this bug ever since 1.16 official release.
